Hello friends. How have you been? I hope my American friends had a nice long Memorial weekend. The weather here has been up and down.
It was gorgeous the other day and then it dropped low enough that we had to bring all our plants inside because there was a frost warning.
But during one of the beautiful days, we took a little hike and I brought some random branches to put together an easy summer mantel.
I got this pretty branch, which I don’t know what is called and some Poplar. The Poplar reminds me of silver dollar eucalyptus.
Isn’t it just so pretty. I love the way the bright green looks against the black. This LADY is from Anthropologie. She’s so cute.
The brass candlesticks are from the thrift store….
I love the entire look and I specially love that it was free.

So pretty Lucy! Those branches look like a form of viburnum maybe? It’s been cold off and on here in Indiana in May. Late May it’s typically very warm but this Memorial Day it was in the 50’s and breezy. Strange times these days. I’m not a fan of the hot and humid so I won’t complain. I’m working on my spring/summer mantel and struggling to find the right balance. It’s a trick for me every season.
Yours looks great! You can’t beat live branches or flowers.

Clean greenery and blooms and fake ones, potted succulents, and different plant life can be a pleasant suit for a summertime mantel. You can also contain clocks, candle lanterns, candles in candle holders, lighting, banners, and artworks.
