Hot Cocoa with Peppermint Schnapps

Hello friends. How are you? I hope you’ve been keeping well and are all ready to enjoy the holidays. Only a few more days and it’s Christmas.
Though to be honest, I’m not sure how I’m feeling about Christmas this year in that I won’t be able to spend time with my entire family.
But today, I wanted to share with you this yummy Hot Cocoa with Peppermint Schnapps that is the perfect winter adult hot cocoa.


It’s fast to make and hits the spot on a winter evening. 

Here we go:

Ingredients:

5 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Whipped cream, for serving

Directions:

 

  1. Heat 1 cup of the milk in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add chocolate, stirring constantly, until melted.
    Increase heat  and add the rest of the milk while whisking rapidly. Do not allow to boil.
  2. Take some candy canes or peppermints into a bag and crush with rolling pin. Place crumbs on shallow dish.
  3. Place a small amount of milk on a dish. Dip rim of mug or glass into milk and then onto crumbs to coat rim.
  4. Place milk into mug or glass and add 1 ounce of peppermint schnapps and a dollop of whipped cream on top.
