Hello friends. I hope you had a nice weekend. It’s been a little quiet around here as I have been busy doing a lot of painting for some really exciting things coming in the near future. I have also taken some time off social media. Even though I find it often inspirational, I have also temporarily fallen out of love with it. I’m sure it will pass but for now, I’m just not feeling it. It’s a weird monster because in this industry, you’re not really supposed to fall out of love with social media because your business is largely dependent on it, so perhaps taking a little break is the way to go. So I’ve been trying to make my own inspiration by painting and taking more photos.
The other day I found a little bouquet of camomiles and I thought they would look so adorable on a naked cake. So I baked a simple cake and decorated with pansies, blueberries and the camomiles.
Except I started decorating too close to my after school driving mom duty rounds and so I only took some test photos and placed the cake in the fridge. By the time I got back home it was too late. Fast Forward to the next day when it was raining and too gloomy to take good photos.
So the cake sat in the fridge and by the time I got around to it, everything looked pretty sad. So these are the only photos I took but I didn’t want them to go to ‘waste’…
I will probably recreate it and this time take real photos, but for now this is all I got.

This is darling and the photos are fine. I didn’t know what camomile blossoms looked like…like something from a children’s story book or coloring book. I don’t do Facebook or any of the other forms of social media, but do love my e-mail and hope you don’t quit blogging.
I love your honesty, I get tired of everyone always trying to paint this everything is perfect all the time image. Enjoy your painting projects and whatever makes you happy, we’ll be here when you’re ready to share.

I love this cake and showed it to my mom. She loved it too. I love the beautiful flowers! I planted from seed some pansies 2 years ago and they were so beautiful! The problem is we have mutant ninja squirrels in our yard and our neighborhood and when I planted them again last year, they destroyed them and dug them all up! I was so upset! I want to try planting them again this year. I wish I could get rid of all those squirrels!

I see you are going through a period where you need to rest and find inspiration. That’s great because in this industry, it’s easy to fall into the trap of social media, forgetting simple things like being creative ourselves. Try doing the rice purity test with your friends to have fun and discover more about yourself.
