I love this time of year. Christmastime is magical as is, but it also provides an opportunity to make everything MERRY. It’s a time for family, friends, and memories with the twinkling lights of the tree, the aroma of cookies fresh from the oven or the perfectly wrapped gift, any and all of which can make the holiday merry.
It’s also a time when the personal touch matters most. When the kiddies were little, I used to wrap some of the family gifts with brown craft paper and sometimes I would paint little gingerbread houses and let them decorate them with Christmas stickers or color them in. As they got a little bit older, they would help me “paint” the wrapping paper.
Sadly for me, the boys (16 & 14) don’t seem to want to paint cute little animals on paper anymore (?), but thankfully, Bella will always jump at the opportunity and enjoys spending time with me while we paint our presents. Last year we painted these for my nieces and nephews. Bella painted the little snow bear. Isn’t it sweet?
You may have seen our living room tree this year, where used soft blush, white and copper ornaments. Most of them are from Michaels, including the little critters. While I do adore our tree this year, I was missing the traditional reds of Christmas and sooooo…..
…I decided to paint these little red cars and attach a little green branch to the top. 🙂
I used regular white paper to wrap the boxes and some regular acrylic paint to paint the simple little red cars.
Nothing too intricate or detailed, I love the pop of color they provide and hope friends and family will appreciate receiving them. I truly believe that these extra little touches of making things yourself are the ones that fill the moment with love, joy and the pride of being able to say ‘I made it just for you’. I feel so blessed to be able to work with Michaels to make that happen.

Never mind painting the wrapping paper for your nephews, I know a lot of adults who would love to receive such a beautifully wrapped present. They are gorgeous, I will be getting my paints out when wrapping now. Thank you for such a lovely idea.

I wanted to stop in and tell you how much we and all who visit our home adore the pillow covers I bought from you. They suit our theme this year perfectly. They will be used for many years.
thanks so much
