Advantages of MDF cabinets:
Affordable price: Compared to natural wood, the cost of producing and installing MDF is lower.
Beautiful and diverse appearance: It has various coatings such as high-gloss, matte, glossy and embossed, which allows you to choose the desired color and design.
Relaxing moisture resistance: Various types of coatings (such as high-gloss and PVC) prevent moisture from penetrating.
Easy installation and formability: MDF can be cut and designed in various ways, such as modern and classic designs.
Smooth and uniform surface: Due to the compression process, its surface is smooth and free of wood knots.
Easy to maintain: It is relatively easy to clean and does not require special care.
Disadvantages of MDF cabinets:
Sensitivity to water: If the uncoated parts are exposed to water, MDF will swell and be damaged.
Weakness to impact: Compared to natural wood, it has less resistance to impact and pressure.
Heaviness: MDF is not less heavy than natural wood and may require stronger joints in wall cabinets.
High heat sensitivity: It may be damaged if placed near heat sources such as stoves.
Types of MDF coatings:
High-gloss: Glossy and transparent surface that gives a modern and stylish look to the kitchen.
Melamine: Moisture and scratch resistant with a matte surface.
PVC: Waterproof and heat resistant, which is also suitable for wet spaces such as bathrooms.
Wooden (wood veneer): Similar to natural wood, with a classic feel and look.
