I sit here on my warm bed feeling blessed for the refuge of our home on this very cold January night. As 2014 commences, we are all given a blank canvas and with each passing day our stories are the strokes of the brush. This year, I want that blank canvas to be filled with colour, passion, happiness and most importantly, LOVE.
But in order to do that, I have decided I need to have COURAGE. COURAGE to love without fear of being hurt. COURAGE to trust that I am good enough. COURAGE to stand up for what I believe. COURAGE to say ‘no’ even if it means I won’t be pleasing everyone, everytime.
I once read a beautiful quote by the late Nelson Mandela that says “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear”.

Gosh what an appropriate post to read. We recently had to choose to say goodbye to our pet cat Willow. She marked the start of our (my husband and i’s) journey. Fear had almost prevented me from doing the ‘right thing’ but eventually i took the bull by the horns and made an appointment. I am also trying to stand up for myself while fear prevents me from saying my peice today when someone was rude i told them so, it feels good to find some courage.
