Bella and I made these adorable pencil holders and pencil toppers.
For the pencil toppers, we cut a strip of felt large enough
to wrap around the pencil and used hot glue to make the cylinder
and then glued a little yellow pompom on top. Easy peasy.

The pencil holders are even easier to make.
Cut a long strip of felt an inch taller than your pot
Cut several slits as shown
Roll loosely and glue at the end to keep from unrolling
Add hot glue to the inside bottom of pot and glue felt
Loosen felt and arrange as desired
The pencils sit nicely inside the felt grass and you can
hardly tell those are pencils in there. You can modify this by
making pencil toppers out of artificial flowers or various colour
of pompoms, or even adding a couple of lady bugs.

Even though we have never gifted a teacher at the beginning
of the school year, I know some of you do and these
