Hello my dear friends! It’s the labour long weekend and the official ending of our summer.
It’s times like this when I realize time does not belong to us. That we must make the most of every minute as we do not truly know how long that minute will last.
There are times when you wish time would fly. Like waiting anxiously for that special package to arrive or sitting at the doctor’s office waiting to hear that familiar sound of your name being called. But like that single raindrop that sits clinging to the car window, time slows down.
On the contrary, there are those moments when you wish time would come to a stop so you could live in that now for an eternity. Yet time seems to mock you with every tick tock of the clock, as each minute passes as fast as a hummingbird hovering over sweet nectar. It is during those moments that time seems to speed up.
Summer is like that to me; it comes with such long anticipation and suddenly it’s gone with the chilly winds of Autumn.
But as I sit here with the warm breeze of the day caressing my hair and the distant sound of air conditioners buzzing, it feels like time is allowing me one last dip into its summer waters. My husband reading on the hammock while my children patiently await one last summer trip to ‘wherever’.
And it’s that ‘wherever’ that will make the crisp days of Autumn so much more beautiful and the harsh long days of Winter comfy and bareable.
As our summer comes to an end and we close yet another chapter in our book, I want to share some pictures of our time together. Although not entirely comfortable sharing them in their original and unedited version, I will so I may not take time away from what matters most.
We will make use of that time that isn’t ours and enjoy every minute of it during every season and go find our fun ‘wherever’.
I look forward to sharing with you a brand new chapter and I hope that you will come along with me.
Thank you for sharing YOUR time with me. Have a great weekend and fun wherever you are heading….
much love,
Lucy

Lucy- You and your family are so beautiful..and YOU are beautiful inside AND out! I love all your pictures…one of my favorites is the one of you and your daughter holding the kitty (?) It is a kitty I think! And your son’s haircut – I remember that. And that last picture of all of you..Great shot.
I have ALWAYS had an inordinate sense of time passing..even as a child. It really struck me the other day in the car when Ria (age 7) asked…”Did you ever notice how fast times goes, Nana? It seems like I was a little girl just the other day and now I am 7 and pretty soon I will be going to high school and it will seem like today was yesterday.” I about fell off my seat to hear her express THAT in such a grown up manner. She is my old soul for sure! xo Diana
