Oh Ms. Beatrix Potter. So talented, yet she was quoted as saying, “I must draw, however poor the result….I will do something sooner or later.” Can you believe she would say those words?
I attempted to draw little Peter Rabbit on a dictionary page. I say ‘attempted’ as Ms. Beatrix Potter’s art cannot be duplicated….
So I will be sending her this little gift just in time for Easter, and I hope she likes it….

ps – the ranunculus tutorial is ready and I will be posting it before the end of the weekend 🙂

Beautiful!
Your gift is truly wonderful and I am sure it will be loved by the lucky recipient! As much as I love the Beatrix Potter books, I would have to say that Heidi was my favorite book. I often imagined myself up in the mountains with her! Silly but fun.
awww….Quet! Love this post…so much! I love to think of you and Carlos as children, how sweet and tender your love was (and is still), it makes me so happy to hear of your memories. I think it’s because I have so many similiar ones with my own brother.
Lovely post, sister. Love you lots!
Your artwork is beautiful. I’m sure your friend will love it!

You did a great job with this cute rabbit! I know your friend will LOVE it! My favorite childhood story/movie was Mary Poppins. I didn’t appreciate Beatrix until I was older and loved the movie about her life!
Super ideja!!!
Ovo mi se baš sviđa, onaj kome je namjenjen ovaj dar sigurno će biti presretan…
Your Peter Rabbit is really beautiful…your friend will certainly love it!!!

This is precious!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Whipperberry sent me over here, and I’m so glad! Thanks for all you great inspirations
Potter’s illustrations are lovely. I saw her orignals on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and read that quote you mentioned in the exhibition. Your version is very impressive too.

Happy I discovered your happy blog!! Just thought you might like to know!!aha…happy
this painting is beautiful!
That is just a fabulous rendition of Peter Rabbit- I love it! IWhat a clever way to do it and you did a marvelous job! I have always loved Peter Rabbit too-it was one of my favorites when I was a child. I loved the story of Rose Red as much as Peter Rabbit. I read all of those stories to my kids when they were little.
I read Hansel and Gretel to SweetCheeks a while back and I thought she was going to have a heart attack…she started crying. Guess that will not be on our “go to bed” list! xxoo Diana
I love this! Did you use watercolor for it?
This is just wonderfully sweet!

You did a fantastic job of drawing Peter Rabbit! And I love the idea of putting him on a dictionary page.
What a beautiful job, Lucy. It’s so touching. I have cherished the stories since my oldest (almost 20 now, eek!) was young. We have the books. Have you seen the stories on VHS/DVD through the BBC? My 17 year old girls STILL love them. xox
LOVE this! so impressive!!!
Lucy, you are one talented and creative lady! I just spent a good amount of time reading your blog and I’m blown away by your creativity and your passion for life….It all shows in your work. Wonderful work and photography.

I too love Peter Rabbit, and if a friend made that for me it would immediately be hung in my master bedroom.
I love this! My little boy’s nursery has Peter Rabbit details in it and this would be perfect!

I love this-it’s absolutely darling! Really sweet! Thanks for sharing at FNF! 🙂
I. LOVE. THIS.
I will be attempting to re-create it very soon! I usually paint with acrylics but I just have to try the watercolor and have my very own Peter Rabbit artwork! Recently I stumbled upon the movie Miss Potter, if you haven’t seen it and you love Beatrix Potter’s books and artwork, PLEASE watch it! It is absolutely darling!
That’s adorable. I love Beatrix Potter. I think you did a great job. 🙂
You painted that? It’s incredible. I was reading to find out what you printed it from…guess I don’t have to worry about duplicating that! (unless she did a book about stick figures that I don’t know….) Well done!
wow that is amazing, to redo this I will need to do an image transfer.
don’t forget to add it to our linking party this week

I found this late but I so love Beatrix Potter books. I have such fond memories of sitting in our elementary library right in front of her section and reading the little books. Ah!
This is so beautiful! I can totally see a kid’s room with a set of prints like these! Thanks for the inspiration.
