Hello friends. I hope you had a nice weekend. I’m back today with yet another pretty little cake. I’m not necessarily sharin a recipe per se but I wanted to show you how I made this chocolate nest.
It was easy to make and I think it would also look so pretty sitting on a plate as a place card.
I placed some very thin rice noodles in a bowl and broke them into smaller pieces.
I then melted some chocolate in the microwave and tossed the noodles and the chocolate together until fully coated.
I lined the inside of a small bowl with some plastic wrap and placed the noodles in the bowl, making the shape of a nest.
I made a little hole in the center and placed a couple of chocolate eggs in the middle.
You can let it cool on the counter or place it in the fridge for a few minutes and you’re done!
To paint the cake, I used the same technique I used HERE.
You can follow this tutorial on how to paint leaves.
There you go. Looks complicated but it’s super easy don’t you think?
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please don’t forget to visit the delicious recipes below.

This is absolutely beautiful AND a brilliant idea! What a gorgeous cake, Lucy!!! You always do such pretty projects! Whenever I see your “pretty” ideas, it reminds me of an old issue of Canadian House & Home. I can’t remember the year (perhaps, early 90’s??). The front of the issue said “Bring Back the Pretty”. I wish I had kept that issue as it was filled with such lovely interiors and was such a refreshing change from a run of issues featuring modern, sleek interiors. I like a pared-down interior as I find it calming but, on the other hand, I also crave “pretty”. Thank you for this lovely post!
