Hello, friends. It’s Friday and the first long weekend of the ‘summer’ here in Ontario. Though summer doesn’t officially start for another month, the past couple of days have been beautifully warm, which allowed me to tackle a job I’ve been meaning to do for a while.
See that cute guy right there? Well, he loves coming home and sometimes gets so excited that jumps up and scratches the door.
From this close-up, you can see the door was in need of some TLC…
With the weather being so nice this week, I finally had a chance to use the new DecoArt CURB APPEAL and I loved it. The paint goes on so smoothly and it dries fairly quickly.
Once the door was was complete, I realized the railings needed some attention. You can see where I started and stopped and what a difference a fresh coat makes.
We will be replacing these railings eventually, but for now, the refresh makes these 12-year old railings look almost new again.
A fresh coat of paint is such an easy way to spruce up an area.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Happy weekend…xo

Very pretty and welcoming! The basketweave planters are attractive. Do you have a source?

Hi Catherine – Lucy’s planters look identical to mine which I purchased two years ago at Terra Nursery on #5 Highway, just slightly west of Burlington. However, I’ve seen similar ones at Canadian Tire, etc. Hope this helps. I live in a condo and my faux wicker planters have been out there – summer or winter – for two years and still look good … I don’t even cover them in the winter!

Know what you mean about dog scratches……But, I’d rather have them and my dog…….Love the front door. Mine is black also. And it needs a coat of paint. We have a big front porch and use it often. Three sitting areas on it and I need to repaint most of the furniture this year. I’ll check out the art deco paint when ready to paint. Right now I am making wood churches and painting them quirky and fun looking with lots of color. Thanks for sharing.
