Hello friends. We’re back with week two of The Outdoor Extravaganza hosted by my friend Shauna. Last week, I shared a cute little herb planter and for this week, I want to share this super easy and delicious summer entertaining menu idea.
I’m particularly loving this idea as it’s not only fast and easy to put together, but is delicious and the ingredient combinations are endless.
A crostini bar truly takes very little effort. You can prepare dips, sauces and spreads ahead of time or even make it easier and buy pre-made dips and spreads at the grocery store.
The main ingredient of course is delicious buttered and grilled crusty bread. I like to cut some garlic and rub it right onto the bread while still hot.
One of my favourites is this wrapped asparagus and cheese prosciutto crostini. You can find the recipe HERE.
How about making some quick bruschetta by slicing cherry tomatoes, mixing them with olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and sprinkling in some fresh basil?
This salmon and cream cheese is one of hubby’s favourites and the kiddies love boccocini, basil and tomato drizzled with olive oil.
Serve a variety of meats and cheese and you have a delicious meal which allows you to spend more time with your guests, rather than in front of your stove.
Summer decorating and entertaining should be fun and easy and I think this fits the bill.

This looks amazing! What a great idea for easy summer entertaining. I recently picked up a vegetable antipasto platter from Whole Foods, it had grilled bread, a tapenade, and loads of grilled veggies. It was a big hit and a good option when time doesn’t allow you to do it all yourself!
