It’s hard to believe this is the third and final week of our Outdoor Extravaganza series. Last week, I shared THIS delicious summer menu and this week, I wanted to share this adorable gardening bench hubby and I built last year. Well, in all honesty, it wasn’t intended to be a gardening bench and if I can be completely honest, it’s not really finished yet. But I love it and find it very useful just the way it is.
It’s the twin to this sideboard we had built, which you can read about it HERE.
Our initial plan was to place two of these side by side, but it would have been too massive a piece for that space, so instead, we have been using it outside as a little gardening bench.
I have always wanted a place to store the many terracotta pots I’ve collected and this bench serves as the perfect place.
I think the old window frame adds the perfect touch.
And how cute do these pots look hanging from it?
An old pot and simple twine.
I love having a designated place with my gardening tools.
And a spot for my whimsy herb garden, which you can read about HERE.
You can read the tutorial for both of these pots HERE and HERE.
I was having so much fun taking photos until the rain decided to move in. Thankfully, rain makes gardens seem greener, and I just love the smell of wet grass, don’t you?
I’m also loving all of these other amazing projects from my talented friends. Be sure to check them out.

One of the benefits of bench seating is its ability to stimulate conversations. In the end, benches are the place where Forest Gump spent most of his time telling his story in the cult 1990s blockbuster. If two people sit in a row on a bench they’ll feel closer in both a literal and metaphorical sense. Thus, while conventional seating options such as chairs can create a gap between two people benches connect them and encourage the conversation.

I recommend this online shop https://mcdonaldpaper.com/winco-eco-p7-replacement-handle-knob-for-epo-1-plastic-black/ ! I always turn to them when I need plastic products for the kitchen. They have a huge range of products in different colours and sizes, from food storage containers to a variety of kitchen utensils. The quality and durability of the plastic is impressive, all my purchases have lasted a long time without wear and tear.
