It has definitely felt like fall these past few days, with
the drop in temperature calling for warm, cozy sweaters.
In celebration of the changing season, I invite
you to take a short tour of early fall at home.
I am honoured to be stop no. 5 in the
Eclectically Fall Home Tour,
You can start there to see the tour from the beginning.
Welcome to those of you coming from
Isn’t her place just so lovely?
This past weekend, I went looking for pumpkins but am apparently
a week too early. Speaking with one of the farmers, he attributes
a cold summer for the slow growth of pumpkins this season.
But that’s okay, it still feels fall’ish at home.
I changed my blues and turquoise from the summer to soft
and warm neutrals. These new pillows are from World Market and
are keeping my deer pillow great company, don’t you think?
Do you remember my basket mantel from a couple of years ago?
Well, I decided to recreate a similar wall above the couch this year.
I also attached some of my watercolor to them for a little more interest.
I love using fruit in displays and this wooden tray – also
from World Market – is perfect to display them in.
Here are more natural elements that I brought from outside.
It makes decorating for fall a lot of fun and super easy.
And of course, this guy needs to be in the
photo or it wouldn’t be a true house tour.
We haven’t gotten around to buying side tables,
so I made this one out of a series of baskets
and rounded mirror. A little whimsy, I guess.
This big vase was a great find at the thrift store.
This particular photo was from taken earlier, but I
wanted to show how easy it is to add a little fall into your
home by simply bringing some nature indoors.
I love how fall makes us make our nest cozier.
The faux rug, is not actually a rug, but a throw.
Isn’t it fun?
More soft and cozy for those cool nights ahead.
I have been blessed with gorgeous Hydrangeas from my mom’s
garden this year and have used them all throughout the house.
garden this year and have used them all throughout the house.
Here is a super simple display of hydrangeas and kale in a bowl.
You know how much I love playing with my mantel.
I often think ahead to how I would like my mantel to look
at various seasons and collect items for it through the year.
You might remember this paper feather wreath on a previous post.
I recently found this handsome guy at a thrift store and
I think he coordinates perfectly with the rest of the mantel.
I have been collecting these glass cloches for a while.
They are actually the covers of old clocks,
but they work well as cloches don’t you think?
Here are some more paper feathers I’ve displayed on a spool of twine.
These gorgeous French antique scripts are my most favourite find ever.
I bought them while attending Haven in Atlanta this summer and adore them.
So there you go…a little tour of our home.
I will have more soon, but for now, I hope you have
found some fall inspiration to get you started.
But for even more inspiration, head on over
You’ll love it.
And here are some of my World Market finds:
Gray Faux fur pillows
Natural ribbed pillows
Brown Faux fur throw
Faux wooden antler
Mini wood and brass magnifying glass
Wood bark bowl
