A couple of weeks ago I hosted a little painting p

A couple of weeks ago I hosted a little painting party for my friends and made these cute little martini ornaments for them to take home.

This is how I made them:
I bought plastic martini glasses from my local party store. (You can order smaller ones online)

I used polymer clay to make the olives and the little coffee beans and baked them in the oven. (It only took about 10 mins)

While they were baking,
I mixed the resin making sure I followed the instructions in the package.

NOTE: They sell resin tinting pigments but I didn’t have time to order them, so I used the tiniest amount of food colouring to make the ‘dirty’ martini.

Once the olives were cool, I placed them into the resin.

I did the same for the espresso martini but I allowed the first layer to dry prior to pouring the ‘foam’.

To make the foam, I mixed some flour with the resin. (I looked this up online).

I then allowed the ‘foam’ to set for about an hour prior to putting the coffee beans so they wouldn’t sink.

I let them to sit for approximately 48 hours ( though they were pretty solid after about 12 hours)

To make the hole for the hook, I used pliers to hold a nail over the flame from my stove and carefully pierced the plastic with the nail. (Please be careful)
I then put a little hook, tied a ribbon at the base of the glass and 🥂

Last year I made a similar gingerbread house mug and it held up well.
I used a combination of glass paint and dimensional glass outliner for the ‘frosting’.

This year I saw this green mug at the dollar store and the colour is exactly like an Anthropologie gingerbread house creamer.
So naturally, here’s my version.

I placed a pair of gloves, chapstick, hand cream and a gift card to make a cute little handmade gift.
