When I was a young child growing up in a family of musicians and artists, I was surrounded by canvases, brushes and paints. I learned at an early age the beauty art can bring to one’s life and wanted the same for our children. And so the journey began.
From its infancy, Craftberry Bush has evolved to become not only a virtual diary for our children, but an outlet for me to share my passion for art and more. Even though art has always been a part of me, I had put it aside for fear of not being ‘good enough’. That’s not to say I had not continued to create, but sharing my art with others was something I was hesitant about and rarely did. But once my little Craftberry Bush was planted, I opened myself to the vulnerability of exposing my art. I now understand the need to nurture my craft and appreciate that includes exposing myself to feedback, be it positive or negative.
As this blog continues to grow and evolve, it’s important to me that I’m able to maintain an intimacy and build a relationship with you. The relationships that I have built so far, have allowed me to expand upon the artistic aspect and share not only my creations, but my family’s own personal journey – be it our happiest moments, or darkest hours.
But my passion for art has and always will remain at the core of Craftberry Bush. As I am now only learning to call myself an artist, my hope is that I can inspire others to put aside their fears and hesitations and enjoy the beauty art has to offer.
Thank you for being here, and thank you for helping me nurture this little Craftberry Bush.
much love,
Lucy
